The Bethany exercise science major has a couple of unique features. In Introduction to Human Gross Anatomy you’ll have the opportunity to dissect a cadaver. This course, not typically offered at the undergraduate level, will give you firsthand insight into the structure of the human body. In addition to fulfilling exercise science coursework, the major also leaves room for you to take electives in other areas of interest that can result in a formal minor.

This degree was designed to fulfill the requirements to be recognized by the major governing bodies that oversee the field of exercise science. Possible career opportunities include coaching, biomechanics, corporate fitness director, exercise physiologist, personal trainer, and a strength and conditioning coach just to name a few. This major will also prepare students for graduate study if they so choose.

Exercise Science Major Goals & Objectives
* Provide students with the Bethany experience focusing on the knowledge of “The One Thing Needful.”
* Integrate liberal learning skills including critical thinking, writing and speaking within the major.
* Provide a firm foundation in Christian personal and professional morals, values and ethic behavior within the field of exercise science.
* Enable the students to recognize the importance of lifelong fitness of the mind and lifelong fitness of the body.
* Provide theoretical and practical knowledge and skills needed to establish a lifestyle that promotes health and prevents disease.
* Provide a major that prepares students for a career in exercise science and for graduate study if desired.
